An Origin is another name for the web server you have integrated with the StackPath WAF. Anytime the IP address of your origin server changes, you will need to update StackPath with the new information. How you do this will depend if you have integrated with our WAF in a standalone configuration (without CDN) or with the StackPath CDN.
The Origin controls are very simple with a Standalone WAF implementation. You can select the IP address you would like connections to be sent to straight from within the StackPath control panel in the WAF site directly under the Origin tab.
All other Origin settings are defined upon creation of the WAF site, as these are unlikely to change.
CDN + WAF
When configuring Origin Information with a website that is integrated with a CDN and WAF implementation, you can freely edit the Origin Settings from the CDN > Settings tab of the website, as this will be automatically updated in the WAF tab too. This allows a greater deal of customization than a Standalone WAF integration, as these settings can affect content delivery from the CDN Cache.
