Overview
The profile page allows you to access various aspects of your StackPath Portal Account. You will want to ensure that the information in this section is up to date to avoid issues with communications and billing. This includes making sure your contact information, email and phone number, are up to date as well as ensuring that your credit card and billing information are current. In addition, StackPath recommends you review and change your password regularly as well as enable Two-Factor authentication to protect your account.
Located at the bottom of the profile screen is your Account ID. Support may request this ID when looking up your account information.
The Profile Tab
Clicking on your name at the top right of the Control Portal will open the Account Management and Profile menu. You can review and edit your profile and associated settings by clicking "Profile".
Visible on the screen when you enter the page is your name, email and phone number (if you have added them to your profile). To add or edit your contact information,
- Be sure you are on the Profile page by clicking your name on the top right corner of the customer portal and selecting Profile from the drop-down menu.
- To the far right of your name on the screen will be a 3 dots menu, click it.
- To change your email, select, change e-mail
- A new screen will appear.
- Change your e-mail address in the first field and type in your current password.
- Click Save Changes or Cancel to continue
- You will receive an email from StackPath in the inbox of the email address you just entered. Open the email to verify your new email address.
- To change your phone number, from the 3 dots menu select, Edit
- Verify your full name is correct.
- Click the flag icon to the left of the field to select your country and then add or change your Phone Number.
- Additionally, you can allow your browser to select the timezone based on your computer's location, or, select a timezone from the drop-down menu.
- Click Save Changes or Cancel to continue
Update your Password
It is important that you create a strong password to protect your account from malicious activity. StackPath also recommends changing your password frequently and avoid using the same password for multiple accounts. Unique passwords with multiple characters and symbols are required.
- In the StackPath Control Portal, in the top, right corner, click your name to reveal the drop-down menu.
- Click Profile.
- Click Change Password.
- Enter your current password, and then create a new one.
- Your password must be at least 8 characters in length, and must meet at least 3 of the following requirements:
- A lower-case letter
- An upper-case letter
- A number
- A symbol (! @ # $ % ^ & ; *)
- Click Update.
Reset your Password
If you forget your password or are unable to log into your account, you can reset it by following the instructions below.
- In the login screen for the StackPath Control Portal, click Forgot Your Password.
- Enter your email address.
- If your email address is connected to a Stackpath account, then you will receive an email. Open the email, and then click the link.
- Enter your new password. Your password must be at least 8 characters in length, and must meet at least 3 of the following requirements:
- A lower-case letter
- An upper-case letter
- A number
- A symbol (! @ # $ % ^ & ; *)
- Click Update.
If you are having issues resetting your password, verify to see you have linked your GitHub, Google or Facebook account to your StackPath account. If any of these accounts are linked to your StackPath account, then you will need to login using the appropriate button at the bottom of the login page.
Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication (2FA) prevents unauthorized access to your account by requiring not just a password, but an acknowledgment through a third party of the log in activity. You can use these instructions to activate two-factor authentication to your account. With two-factor authentication, to successfully log into your account, you will need to enter your username and password, as well as a six-digit code.
Before you begin, you must already have an authentication app installed on your phone, such as Authy, Google Authenticator, Duo, Lastpass Authentication, and more. These instructions will explain how to use the Google Authenticator app.
- In the StackPath Control Portal, in the top, right corner, click your name.
- Click Profile from the drop-down menu.
- Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Enable.
- Enter your StackPath account password, and then click Continue.
- Copy and securely store the backup code.
- In the future, if you cannot use your phone to authenticate, then you can use this code to access your account.
- Click I've saved my backup, continue.
- Open the Google Authenticator App, tap the plus ( + ) icon, and tap Scan barcode.
- Scan the QR code displayed in the portal, and then click I've added the code, continue.
- The application will display a six-digit code; enter this code in the portal in One-Time Portal, and then select Enable Two-Factor Authentication.
- You will see All Done display after a successful activation.
Disable Two-Factor Authentication
You can use these instructions to disable two-factor authentication for your account. With this action, you will no longer need to enter a six-digit code to access your account.
- In the StackPath Control Portal, in the top, right corner, click your name.
- Click Profile from the drop-down menu.
- Under Two-Factor Authentication, click Disable
- Enter your StackPath account password, and then click Continue.
- A message will appear to indicate that two-factor authentication has been disabled.
Linked Accounts
Developers who wish to use more advanced capabilities can connect their GitHub, Google and Facebook profiles with the StackPath portal. These are optional but provide added functionality that may be beneficial to some people.
To connect your accounts, simply click on the appropriate icon from the Profile menu and follow the directions on screen.
To unlink any of these accounts, navigate to the same section within the Profile menu and click the icon of the account you would like to unlink.
