Overview
As of April 1, 2021 for new subscriptions and September 30, 2021 for existing subscriptions, banks across India have implemented changes to their policies regarding recurring payments in order to comply with the Reserve Bank of India's (RBI) directive on the processing of e-mandates for recurring transactions. These guidelines were put into place in order to provide additional security measures for online transactions.
Who is impacted?
StackPath customers using credit/debit cards from banks located in India will be impacted, as these banks are required to adhere to the RBI guidelines.
What does this mean?
Restrictions on recurring transactions will be applied to users with banks located in India.
StackPath's billing model uses recurring transactions to deduct payment for services every month. We will be unable to automatically deduct payment from the default card on file for these impacted users, which will result in payment failure errors.
What should you do?
StackPath customers who are impacted by these guidelines can contact us at billinghelp@stackpath.com so that we may set up your account to allow for manual payments at the end of your billing period, as well as a temporary change in account status preventing automatic suspension and/or cancellation for non-payment.
How we are working to fix this?
StackPath is actively working with our payment processor to develop a permanent solution that will help impacted customers.
